Three pig breeds and specific sire lines of descent have been selected to represent the biggest French database selection with 1,500 sows. AXIOM’s cores are also present abroad over Europe, Canada and Asia.

Duroc AXIOM

Choosing Duroc AXIOM means you are guaranteed:

  • High growth rate for greater throughput
  • Excellent meat quality

How do we do it?

  • The average daily gain is the major factor in our Duroc selection.
  • AXIOM measures fifty percent of the candidates for selection at 110kg on intra muscular fat (ultrasound) at 110kg

Label 48

Choosing the Label 48 means you are guaranteed:

• Robust piglets at birth for weaning large numbers of piglets easily

• Finishing pigs with excellent meat quality

How do we do it?

• The choice of a cross-bred boar with 50% Duroc AXIOM genes

• 50% of the candidates for selection at 110kg are measured on intra muscular fat (ultrasound) at 110kg

Piétrain NN AXIOM

Choosing AXIOM Piétrain NN means you are guaranteed:

  • low production cost
  • strong piglets at birth
  • Very muscular offspring

 

How do we do it?

  • AXIOM tests 11,000 boars per year on the feed conversion rate
  • The top 5% of boars have a feed conversion rate of 1.85
  • selecting based on the rate of lean gain for more than 30 years
