Origins
The origin story of both Gene+ and Axiom dates back to just before the 1990s, with 2 French cooperatives – UCAGENOF and CADS (since assimilated by the French agricultural cooperative AGRIAL) – who wished to develop hyper-prolific sire and dam lines.

A decade of expansion
This decade saw the integration of numerous cooperatives within the shareholding structure of Gene+, which would go on to become a key player in the French swine industry.

New alliances and international openings
The opening of the first international subsidiary was accompanied by the creation of Gene+ Iberica in Spain, now known as Axiom Iberica. During this time, the Group was further consolidated by the addition of Scapaag, Selpa, and other companies, through to 2016.

Shared objectives
Unsurprisingly, Gene+ and ADN – then-leaders in their markets for over 20 years – merged to become the leader in swine genetics in France. Thus, the Axiom Group was born.
Even in 2016, the Group’s ambition was clear: “Under this name, the new Group intends to solidify and showcase its prime position”.

Axiom in China
Thanks to a number of successful partnerships, Axiom pursued this purpose with the creation of France Pig Breeding, its Chinese subsidiary (now known as Axiom China), thereby reinforcing its international status.

The rise of a new global leader
In December 2023, the Axiom Group purchased Choice Genetics France, Brazil, and Poland. This acquisition placed Axiom among the top 5 global players in swine genetics.
