Since the first Venus farrowings in October 2022, I’ve seen a clear evolution in performance. We’ve increased the number of weanlings and lowered the percentage of live birth losses. The Venuses are very maternal, and we hardly intervene during farrowing, with heavy, homogeneous piglets at weaning, with litter weights of up to 85 kg at 21 days!
Today, all gilts are long-tailed, we’ve stopped grinding the piglets’ teeth, and we hardly administer any antibiotics.

We’re working with them on gilt management and sow feeding during gestation and maternity.
