AXIOM is a player in the research program on piglet maturity:
Since its launch in January 2020, this project is being piloted in collaboration with IFIP, Alliance R&D and Néotec-Vision. Its goal is to develop a tool for assessing piglet maturity that allows accurate phenotyping, made possible by new technologies!
Maturity of a piglet can be estimated thanks to the morphology of its head. This prototype, which allows individual and automated imaging, is capable of detecting the presence of signs of growth deficiency in a piglet.
Ultimately, the developed tool will respond both to farming issues by increasing the survival rate and therefore the economic profitability of a workshop, while meeting the expectations of society and animal welfare by reducing piglet mortality.
